We used to believe that living in a townhouse or clustered complex was more secure than living in a plain old house. Crime statistics, however, show that this is not always the case. Complex living is only more secure when the residents and their body corporates make it more secure.
Rob Anderson, consulting engineer, has recently been involved in numerous residential estate security projects and he will be presenting his findings on the topic at iLegal 2013. Rob will be offering a 'best practices' guide to residential security, discussing some of the issues he has found most complexes assume to be the norm in security, while the actual impact of them is minimal.
Back by popular demand, iLegal 2013 will be taking place on 14th March 2013 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Rosebank, Johannesburg (on the Gautrain route). As always, iLegal 2013 promises to be the leading event of the year for everybody involved in the use, operation, installation and implementation of any aspect of surveillance, from security managers, executive managers, IT leaders and technology providers and installers.
Whether it is a guard at the gate, electric fencing or surveillance cameras, security tools are only as good as the implementation. And Rob will add that they are only as good as the planning phase makes them, as well as how efficient the processes and procedures governing their use and the activities around them are.
So how does the body corporate ensure its estate spends the right amount of money on the right equipment to get the right results? Do not miss Rob Anderson’s presentation at iLegal 2013 on March the 14th.
