Sensormatic Electronics Corporation, a provider of electronic security solutions recently acquired the assets of BEC Technologies of Orlando, Florida. BEC Technologies designs, manufactures and markets a combination of hardware and software to provide fibre-optic networks for the transmission of audio, video and data signals over long distances.
This technology is ideal for addressing the unique requirements of large-scale installations found in airports, distribution centres, government facilities, casinos and shopping malls, which typically encompass long cable runs, large numbers of cameras and environmental interferences. With this acquisition, Sensormatic will add to its customer base major theme parks including the Universal Studios Theme Park; and sports stadiums including the Roland Garros Tennis stadium in Paris.
