BPT acquires 51% of TRI-BPT Automation

July 2005 News & Events

BPT S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer of audio and video intercom and home automation systems, has acquired 51% shares of its distributor in South Africa and to expand and transfer some skills in the organisation, sent its export director, Riccardo Battaini, from Italy to run TRI-BPT as managing director, in conjunction with the other shareholders, Uli Greve, founder of the company and Robin Greve, technical director.

TRI-BPT has recently reorganised its sales team, to give more focus to the needs of the professional installers and to help them develop their activities. The new sales team is headed by Stephan Blignaut, who has 15 years' sales experience. With three area managers in Johannesburg, two in Pretoria, one in Durban and one in Cape Town, TRI-BPT will concentrate on reaching more customers and better assist the existing base. The new sales team is backed by a technical service available in all the branches.

In order to reinforce its presence in the ever-expanding South African market, TRI-BPT has just implemented a new accounting software package, which will improve the availability and the logistics of the products to the national market.

TRI-BPT, born as Time Recorder and Intercom in 1968, further than BPT products, is the exclusive distributor of CAME (Italy), European leader in gate and door automation, BPT-VISION (Italy) for CCTV and many other accessories that complement the product range.
