iLegal 2019: Keeping security one step ahead

1 August 2019 News & Events

Since the first conference in October 2008, iLegal has been a staple of the security industry in South Africa. Focusing on developments in the surveillance industry, iLegal has always stayed one step ahead of the market, giving delegates insights into how their surveillance operations can and should evolve to make optimal use of the latest technology and best practices in the security market.

Far from only looking at CCTV cameras, iLegal has addressed the best practices and processes in surveillance operations, including storage and networking challenges, the challenges of finding and developing skilled operators and technicians, and the integration of surveillance with all other aspects of physical and logical security.

This year’s iLegal conference is based around the theme of Augmented Surveillance – using technologies and people interactively to maximise results from operators and control rooms in order to make intelligent security and business decisions.

Included in the 2019 agenda, Craig Rosewarne, CEO of Wolfpack, will be presenting on the cyber risks faced by surveillance and security control rooms, and how to mitigate these. In addition, Jason McGregor from Dell EMC will be giving delegates insights into the future of enterprise storage solutions and how new developments will benefit security operations.

Michael Lever from Metagrated will be talking about optimising big data for more effective security operations. And keeping up with the latest trends, Herman Walsh will be delving into facial recognition, the pros and cons and whether it really works as well as the vendors claim. There will also be demonstrations and videos of bleeding-edge security technologies, including a robo-guard and the latest in virtual-reality control room innovations.

And that’s only a portion of the knowledge to be gained on 12 September 2019. iLegal 2019 is a full-day conference and will be held at the Crowne Plaza Johannesburg - The Rosebank.
