TAPA: When things go seriously wrong with driver involvement

The South African branch of TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) will be holding its annual conference at Emperor’s Palace, Gauteng on 26 July 2019. The theme of this year’s event is ‘A Layered Security Approach to Cargo Protection’ and will feature a cross-section of speakers who are respected specialists in their particular fields.

Richard Venter, general manager of Bridgewater Logistics, will present the audience with a case study on transportation risk when things go seriously wrong with driver involvement. Venter boasts extensive general business management experience, at senior management and executive levels, within multinational and large, privately owned organisations, focusing mainly on logistics management.

Now with 30 years’ of industry experience under his belt, he started in road freight as a sales executive, before progressing through all functions at management level. He also served a stint in the courier industry as the MD of TNT Southern Africa, and is now involved with innovation as part of his general manager role at Bridgewater Logistics.
