Milestone Systems has announced the general availability of the Milestone Husky M500 Advanced NVR hardware platform with scalable VMS. The NVR is immediately available.

The M500 Advanced NVR has been performance-tested to support 512 HD cameras (720p HD Cameras, H.264, 30fps, 1 Mb/s Video Stream with VMD (video motion detection) operated on the edge device) with a guaranteed recording performance of 600 Mb/s. The NVR has a versatile design to be a recording server, failover server, management server or can also be used as an all-in-one video solution.

A key contribution of the high performance of Husky M500 Advanced is the storage system’s use of Western Digital Purple hard drives. These drives are specially designed for video surveillance and use write-optimised hard disk drive technology and frame loss protection.

The M500 Advanced NVR supports up to 48 TB of internal raw storage and has the ability to archive to network-attached storage appliances when additional storage is required.

Both Milestone XProtect Expert and XProtect Corporate software come preloaded on the Husky M500 Advanced NVR. The Husky M500 Advanced will be sold in a base configuration only. Partners add camera licences as needed. Three years of Milestone Care Plus plan and hardware warranty are included in all units enabling both free software upgrades, device licence portability and software trade-in credit. This guarantees the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership for an NVR.
