Preventing theft of solar infrastructure

With the growth of solar installations, an increase in theft of infrastructure has been reported. Solar panels, in particular, are vulnerable to theft as they are exposed and visible. Techsolutions recently adapted its AssetSentinel solution to protect solar installations.

AssetSentinel uses small wireless sensors installed on the back of solar panels, which transmit a signal to a base station when movement is detected. The local base station has relay contacts enabling it to interface with a local alarm system while also connecting to the AssetSentinel Cloud platform via Wi-Fi for monitoring purposes. Mobile operators with remote base stations to protect batteries and generators from theft also use AssetSentinel.
