Hands-free hygienic access

Residential Security Handbook 2021: SMART Estate Living Editor's Choice

Suprema facial biometric solutions provide a secure means of safeguarding access for residential estates, high-rise apartments and luxury homes. They feature fast, easy and intuitive user authentication. Suprema’s face recognition offering includes FaceStation F2, FaceStation 2 and FaceLite.

These devices cater for a large number of users with FaceStation F2 accommodating as many as 50 000 users, making them ideal for any site, large or small.

Other than direct sunlight, Suprema’s face recognition technology authenticates users even in an environment with 25 000 lux, which is equivalent to full daylight. Equal performance can be expected in total darkness, thanks to IR recognition technology.

Security includes encryption of biometric credentials and personal information as well as live face detection to block spoofing using photographs or 3D printed masks.

With support for mobile credentials, using NFC or Bluetooth Low Energy, smart cards can now be loaded to any new generation mobile phone supporting NFC or BLE, eliminating cards where multi-factor authentication is required. The latest RFID standards are also supported through multi-band RF reading technology. FaceStation F2 offers a model with fingerprint biometrics as an additional authentication mode, with support for up to 100 000 fingerprint users.

FaceStation F2 is Suprema’s first IP65 rated face recognition device making it dustproof and waterproof and suitable for outdoor use. It also offers remote user enrollment, detection of users without masks and face recognition of users wearing masks. FaceStation 2, on the other hand, can work as a video intercom, eliminating the need to install a separate intercom system, giving residents control over their visitors.

Supporting COVID-19 precautionary measures, the Suprema Thermal Camera detects persons with elevated skin temperature. It connects easily with FaceStation 2 and the F2 via USB interface and a bracket. The temperature of the person requesting access is displayed on the face terminal’s GUI and an alert is raised if a temperature higher than the threshold is detected.
