First Distribution to distribute InteleX Vision

Issue 9 2020 News & Events

First Distribution (FD) has signed an agreement with InteleX Vision that will see it distribute the iSentry video surveillance analytics suite of software in Africa.

iSentry is an artificial intelligence solution set designed to analyse CCTV cameras in real time and give relevant information to controllers immediately in the form of video alerts that are enriched through multiple data points. Focused on the capability enhancement of a human operator to effectively manage huge amounts of live video in real time, iSentry adds instant, contextual visual insight to the video footage generated by a large-scale CCTV deployment.

iSentry’s artificial intelligence ‘watches’ endless amounts of video and through a combination of AI, deep learning and automation, enables an individual operator to effectively monitor in the hundreds of cameras, providing scale, efficiency and effectiveness to control room environments. iSentry’s ‘unusual behaviour’ algorithm is globally acknowledged in enabling monitoring of the unknown. This allows it to alert on events such as loitering and suspicious behaviour, fights, violence and aggression, hijacking, operational irregularity, smoke and fire, traffic irregularities, running, camera tampering and more, without pre-configuration.

iSentry further offers multiple features for perimeter and area protection from short ranges with autonomous classification to long range and wide area surveillance tasks.

Recent developments allow for specific compliance monitoring of facemask wearing, occupancy control and social distancing.

“The strategic partnership between InteleX Vision and First Distribution combines best of breed video surveillance analytics with the most comprehensive range of integrated security and IoT solutions in the industry,” stated Callum Wilson, CEO for InteleX Vision. “I believe this value-added, solution-driven distribution model is unrivalled in the sub-Saharan Africa geography, particularly in respect of IP video and advanced video analytics. Our best-in-class real-time monitoring capability and low total cost of ownership, plus the expertise and experience of FD across the continent, will be a game changer for the community of system integrators and their clients in the region.”

“At First Distribution we follow a ‘value added’ approach, and we are delighted to partner with InteleX Vision distributing iSentry to the entire African continent. iSentry has a unique approach to handling security events with deep learning and artificial intelligence. It is easy to use and very powerful in reducing events management in any control room. iSentry report up to 90% reduction in false alarms and therefore improved management of the control room and real events. iSentry is a server-based solution compatible with existing CCTV/security solutions. The deep learning portion has preferred resolutions and frame rates for optimal performance and accuracy. The addition of iSentry is an obvious complement to our best of breed product stack," states David Simpson, general manager, First Distribution Digital Security and IoT.
