Making estate security work in the real world

1 January 2020 Conferences & Events

Hi-Tech Security Solutions will be hosting a full-day Residential Estate Security Conference in Durban on 12 March 2020, focusing on ‘Meeting Estate Security Challenges in 2020 and Beyond’. The event will focus on identifying, understanding and dealing with a variety of challenges modern estates face, highlighting the best technical and process-oriented approaches to streamline estate security and operations.

Conference attendees living on the East Coast will no doubt have heard of the Cotswold Downs. Hi-Tech Security Solutions is proud to have the CEO of Cotswold Downs, Shantelle Walters, presenting at this conference on the topic of ‘Invisible Efficiency and Security’.

It’s no secret that managing a large luxury residential estate is a tough job. You need to be aware of the numerous events, planned and unplanned, that occur every day. At the same time you need to ensure that residents can go about their lives without a concern for security and the efficient operation of their estate. Residents want complete security, but at the same time, their desire is to go about their business unencumbered and it is the duty of the estate’s management and security teams to ensure they get what they pay for.

In addition, for estates with areas open to the public, such as golf courses, conference facilities and even on-site restaurants, you need to cater for guests with the understanding that visitors expect to come and go without any inconvenience, or with as little inconvenience as possible to allow them to enjoy an open, friendly environment.

With many years’ experience in the residential security market, Shantelle Walters, CEO of Cotswold Downs, will offer some insight into what it takes to run the operations and security of a luxurious and secure estate, highlighting the challenges faced and how she makes sure residents receive the value they are looking for.

It’s not about the latest technology or guards patrolling on every corner, it’s about determining the risks and mitigating them with the optimal processes and procedures. This may include guards and/or technology, but the key is to ensure security and operational processes that work, but are almost invisible to residents.

The Residential Security Conference 2020 will be held on 12 March 2020 at the Durban Country Club. A number of sponsors will also be on hand to highlight their solutions and services to estate managers and security/risk managers, and the relevant members of homeowners’ associations. The sponsors for this conference are:

• IDEMIA

• Bidvest Protea Coin

• Dahua

• Vox

• Excellerate Services

• Hikvision

• Nemtek
