Security system for high-end hotel

CCTV Handbook 2019 Surveillance, Integrated Solutions, Entertainment and Hospitality (Industry)

An international hotel group has made a substantial investment in upmarket hotels within a prestigious Northern Suburbs mixed-use precinct.

Seeing that security was a top priority, the system integrators for the project worked closely with Elvey and Tyco to specify and scope a solution that maximised the available technology and minimised patron inconvenience at this greenfields installation.

According to Elvey’s business development unit, the team selected an integrated security solution that includes a combination of the Tyco exacqVision VMS software, exacqVision network video recorders (NVRs) and 156 Illustra surveillance cameras.

The system integrator leveraged the technical capabilities and project management experience of the Elvey business development unit, together with the knowledge of Elvey’s product specialists and head office technical support to design a solution that is characterised by reliability and sustainability. In addition, they ensure that the high-end, fit-for-purpose technology feature set perfectly suited the hospitality business sector.

The cameras and NVRs were commissioned and configured at Elvey and delivered to the system integrator, so that the final stages entailed them merely doing a plug-and-play operation.

The DSC Neo intrusion system deployed by the client integrates seamlessly into the Exacq video management system. This forms part of the larger trifecta integration that Tyco offers, which allows for easy upgrading and integration with Kantech technology to provide a fully-fledged intrusion, video and access control solution.

The surveillance component of the project, which kicked off in October 2018 and was delivered in February, has been met with great satisfaction by the system integrator and client.
