Digital camera for remote viewing

February 2001 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

The FlexWATCH-CAM is a colour camera with built-in 32 bit processor, image compression engine and web server. It can be used in two ways, either connected to an Ethernet network or connected to a modem and used for dial-up access.

For network operation, the camera is assigned a specific IP address. When the user wants to view the camera he opens his Internet browser and types in the camera's IP address. The browser will then connect to the camera and bring up the web pages stored in the camera, as well as the new video. No special browser or browser plug-in is needed when viewing the video.

If the network is connected to the Internet, users can access the camera as if they were connecting to a standard Internet website.
