Sentronics - electronic security distribution

June 2008 News & Events

Sentronics pushes the envelope and gives birth to some concepts in the electronic security distribution market that encompasses delivery of unique best of breed products, technologies and solution combinations along with an unparalleled service model.

The company

With the recent launch of the Sentronics regional branch office in Midrand Gauteng, the company ensures that it can add to the growth of its current and potential channel business as well as service its existing installer/integrator base with more efficiency than before.

After three years in the industry, and with an initial drive to establish two distinct product brands, Sentronics now offers a total of 11 global brands to the market. This diversity ensures that we can offer solutions that are not only scalable but also address all market segments and requirements found within CCTV today and into the future. The brands cover the four major product categories found in the Sentronics line-up. This includes recording, camera and optic products, as well as various accessories.

Although Sentronics has two regional offices, with the addition of a head office that caters for national functions, the company also exposes its range of products through strategic alliances with other distributors in the market in order to make product available in 16 select locations. Expansion into other parts of Africa is on the roadmap for 2008 and will include locations such as Tanzania, Kenya, Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Nigeria, Mali, Liberia, Angola, Ghana, Zambia, and Mozambique. Currently, product distribution chain makes product available in the locations as indicated in the illustration.

Products, technologies and solutions

Sentronics products can be segmented into four major categories as illustrated below.

These categories are then further divided into lower level sub categories, and distinctive global brands associated to offer a truly all-round approach to dealing with any request we get from clients whether it be economical in nature, or has a more project focus through to enterprise level solutions.

Various product technologies are available within each product brand and across the product categories. Examples of these are auto licence plate and facial identification recognition, text overlay, remote management and monitoring, intelligent software for intruder detection, counting, behaviour monitoring with a non motion detection intelligence basis, thermal, super wide dynamic, mega-pixel, remote access and many others.

The technologies are then combined to offer a unique link between products and solutions. For example, one could offer a solution to the banking industry, specifically for ATMs that will combine technologies such as mega-pixel, with text overlay and facial recognition in order to provide a total robust and all encompassing solution.

Because solutions are made up of technologies that are found inside our products, we can cater for a diverse selection of solutions that are industry specific such as sports and leisure, retail, ports, education, airports, railways, manufacturing etc.

Relationship and service

The basis of successful delivery of products, technologies and solutions through our channel partners depend greatly on the success of our relationships with them. At the core of a healthy relationship is delivering on our service model.

While many companies claim to render a service that makes them available 24 hours of the day for seven days a week, Sentronics has put pen to paper and will be signing off on its promise within the next month by making resources available for product information, technical and product prices anytime of the day, any day of the year. It will enforce this by ensuring that its ground team always has a resource available to assist for any of these queries while the client will call a national 086x number in order to be routed to an available resource.

In addition to this, Sentronics understands that there will be times and requests during these off peak times where the available resource might be asked to make an executive decision and will not be able to do so. For these queries executive management in the form of the Sentronics general manager, financial director and managing director are making themselves available during the same time periods.

Ongoing internal training of staff will also ensure that future calls to Sentronics will mean that anyone, from the tea lady, personal assistants, admin clerk or financial director can all answer basic product knowledge questions, provide first-level technical support and product knowledge.

Sentronics invites you to test its abilities, products, technologies and solutions and challenge all other distributors in the market to provide services that equal this standard.
