RDC Transmitter Reporter 8102 Black Max Antenna TX-Pack

RDC specialises in VHF radio-based solutions for the communication of security data. Long range, high-powered transmitters are used to send security data when an alarm is activated from the alarm installation to a base station located at a control room. The necessary response is then initiated.

RDC's first system went into production 28 years ago and has since become the industry standard form of alarm communication in South Africa. The design of RDC's first system was initiated by the need for an alternative to fixed telephone lines for communicating critical security data. Telephone lines were often out of order and could be cut by criminals to halt alarm communication.

An in-house South African design team is responsible for the development of all RDC's technologies, and have led the industry for 28 years with a number of 'firsts'. The first sub-second security signal, the first eight-tone transmitter, the first single frequency repeater and the first multi-user network. The RDC range of products is now exported extensively to Africa, South America and Australasia.

RDC continues to assess market needs and develop products that meet industry requirements. Sustainability is a high priority in the development process. With the shortage of radio frequencies in South Africa, RDC continues to develop and manufacture products ideally suited to the unique demands of our local industry. RDC recently released its latest breakthrough technology, the IPRS network system. The new system works similarly to a cellular network, but is designed specifically to meet the needs for transmitting critical security data. Another industry first from RDC.

RDC has always retained complete control over its manufacturing processes by manufacturing its own products locally from start to finish. The use of the latest state-of-the-art SMT (surface mount technology) equipment to produce circuit boards to micro-tolerances, virtually eliminates man-made error. Despite modern manufacturing methods however, quality products are impossible without highly skilled staff and RDC therefore spends considerable sums on training and retraining. This has been repaid by exceptional staff loyalty and dedication that sets RDC apart from many competitors.

RDC's position as South Africa's leading supplier is attributed to 'more than just technology'. A multitude of value added services make it more attractive to do business with RDC.

Customers are not only getting the most advanced products, but also the solid backup that comes along with RDC's breakthrough products. RDC demonstrates its commitment to overall customer service with a free 24-hour technical support line (082 444 7176) and the most comprehensive backup in the industry. RDC also provides a transmitter installation course free to all customers, and a Frequency Management Department that handles all frequency-related issues for customers, from planning new frequencies and dealing with ICASA applications to keeping precise records. Furthermore, cost effective access to SABRE frequencies nationwide is offered to customers, saving security companies thousands of rands.

RDC also realises the importance of creating and maintaining top-of-mind awareness in the market. This has been confirmed by a recent survey, modelled on ASMAG's 2004 international survey, which placed RDC amongst the top 10 global brands in terms of brand awareness in the category alarm and intercom brands.

Local development, complete manufacturing control and a multitude of value added services have proved to be a winning combination so far. RDC will continue providing the latest technology and producing high quality, locally produced products for many years to come.
