Complete solutions, delivering complete protection

Issue 6 2022 Access Control & Identity Management, Integrated Solutions, Commercial (Industry)

When it comes to access and entrance control, the onset of Covid-19 in early 2020 put a spotlight on those systems that could deliver organisational controls and benefits that extended well beyond the previous norm.

As the world embraces a new ‘post-Covid’ normal, Tarryn Fortune, business development manager for Gallagher, discusses how the company is continuing to deliver innovative new technologies that are ensuring that customers worldwide benefit from more complete solutions, delivering complete protection.

Managing sites anywhere, anytime

Leading the way in this regard is the recent release by Gallagher of Command Centre v8.80, the latest version of Gallagher’s security site management software. As Fortune notes, “At its core, the release of v8.80 enables all organisations to make security easier, faster and more efficient.” In particular, v8.80 includes the web-based security management system, Command Centre Web.

Fortune observes, “In a modern environment where mobility, accessibility and efficiency are key, Command Centre Web is an invaluable tool for managing sites anywhere, anytime. By interfacing with Gallagher Command Centre via the Gallagher API gateway, the system user has safe and secure access to Command Centre Web from anywhere there is an Internet connection, reducing costs and operational downtime by removing the need to maintain a full workstation on the operator’s computer.”

Enhanced functionality and benefits are also delivered in areas such as cardholder management, where administrators can now view cardholder history, view activity of cardholders, manage cards and credentials (excluding printing/encoding cards), manage cardholder access or assign access, and general personal data field (PDF) management.

The beauty of being a start-to-finish manufacturer such as Gallagher is that the evolution of these products is pre-planned and engineered. This ensures that future feature additions are locked in, including adding cardholders, printing and encoding cards, as well as managing PINs and user codes.

SIP integration

The advancements delivered by Command Centre v8.80 do not end there. It also includes the introduction of the SIP integration. This delivers a simple and secure integration service for use with third-party applications. An example of this is that customers can have the flexibility to choose an intercom system that is precisely what they require. The feature allows an operator to talk to an intercom user via a Command Centre workstation machine without requiring additional intercom hardware, a big win in terms of cost and ease of deployment.

This approach is typical of Gallagher, Fortune concludes: “We understand a one-size-fits-all solution no longer works. Gallagher’s Command Centre and the Command Centre Web are designed to integrate seamlessly with a wide variety of systems and hardware, while still giving our customers the confidence of a single operating platform that manages total site security. Both represent just two of the significant advancements we have delivered as part of recent launches.”
