Remote personnel management solution

March 2003 Conferences & Events

DexSecurity Solutions used the Securex platform to launch a new remote personnel management solution, ID Anywarea.

ID Anywarea is based on DexIDa, a mobile finger identification system, and a GSM modem in robust housing. The DexID one-touch finger identification system forms the base of the new access control and time and attendance systems aimed at the needs of customers in the banking, manufacturing and distribution sectors. DexID is a standalone device that provides fingerprint biometric verification for door status monitoring and door lock operation. Each unit is equipped with a fingerprint sensor that scans the user's fingerprint and records the event. DexID can be integrated with LANs and existing access control solutions.

The ID Anywarea solution is suitable for companies need to manage thousands of security guards located at hundreds of sites. "The unit identifies the user, records dates and times and sends information to a central control room in realtime. That means that the security company can monitor its guards and sites, so that it can send additional staff to a site if the guard on duty is absent. The system will also mitigate against unauthorised overtime, and reduce the costs associated with regular check-in telephone calls and site visits," says DexSecurity Solutions MD, Ernest Cockcroft.

DSS has integrated this solution with EasyRoster, the application that most security companies use to manage shift allocation to their guards.

That means the roster is updated in realtime, easing shift reconciliations and payroll calculations. DexID is a product of local IT company DexSecurity Solutions, a subsidiary of the Dex Group.

DSS also exhibited its DexCop USB-based token solution at Securex. This system, based on technology from SoftProtect, allows for all files on PC to be encrypted so that only an authorised user with the right token and password can access the data. For even more security, DexCop can be integrated with fingerprint biometrics to provide three-factor authentication.
