Securex 2003 gets thumbs-up from Honeywell

March 2003 Conferences & Events

Honeywell has given a big thumbs-up to the organisers of Securex 2003, particularly for the move to the show's new venue, the Sandton Convention Centre.

Frank Fowles, manager of Honeywell's Advanced Business Solutions says: "Securex 2003 was a terrific show, enabling us to reach our ideal target market and to achieve our main goals - to communicate to our customers that the TeqTrader, Ultrak and Betatech brands have been incorporated under a single Honeywell brand and of course, to generate quality sales leads.

"This year our stand showcased high-end products and one of our new flagship security products, video smoke detection (VSD), which is the world's most sophisticated smoke detection system, received an overwhelming response."

Also highlighted at the show was Honeywell's EBI - enterprise building integrator - which incorporates building management systems and HVAC, as well as access control, digital video management, fire safety systems and asset locations into one powerful security package.

Another offering that featured prominently on the stand was Honeywell's new security system rental programme. First Alert Professional addresses the need for a more balanced security offering with a focus on professional service and the provision of an adequate hardware system that provides optimal coverage in terms of customers' needs. "The traditional one-size-fits-all approach is no longer feasible," says Frank Fowles, "each customer's needs are different and First Alert Professional provides reliable and comprehensive security systems tailored to the specific needs of the customer. We believe First Alert will not only serve as the vehicle for the welcome return of the small to medium vendors, but will empower home and business owners to have the kind of security system that meets their unique requirements."

He adds that keen interest was expressed in the courses offered by the Honeywell user training college in Linbro Park.
