The Calibur SVMe (streaming video nodule with Ethernet compatibility) from Kalatel allows users to select one of eight remote cameras, view selected video and control that camera's operation directly from a PC. By networking two SVMe units, users can also video conference, augmenting access control applications.
Transmitted via Ethernet, video can be viewed remotely on a PC, standalone monitor or routed through a matrix switching system such as the company's DigiPlex IV. Users are able to remotely pan, tilt, zoom, focus, iris and preset functions regardless of the camera's location. Virtual Dome ID address mapping even allows one to select and control a specific camera dome.
When alarms are issued, the alarmed camera is maximised and displayed. On the second and third alarms, the SVMe sequences all alarmed cameras for a pre-determined, user-selectable dwell time. An alarm log is stored in the SVMe's nonvolatile memory.
