Miniature pan/tilt camera

November 2002 Surveillance

The new miniature CyberScout camera system from Kalatel combines the most essential features of a surveillance system in a pan/tilt dome. Equipped with a high-resolution, variable speed pan/tilt colour camera housed in a 12,4 cm heavy-duty, tamper resistant aluminium housing, the CyberScout's built-in receiver remotely controls digital zoom and other programmable options for increased surveillance options.

"Users and installers can now efficiently replace limited fixed position cameras and obtain the increased benefits of pan/tilt/zoom with the CyberScout," affirms Darren Nicholson, GE Interlogix, Kalatel Division vice president marketing. "This is especially important where space is limited or discreet surveillance is needed. From employing shadow tours to being able to quickly zero in on a problem as it occurs, this miniature system provides installers and users with greatly increased flexibilities in designing systems that protect retail centres, financial institutions, etc."

In addition, to make ordering, installation and using the system easier, the CyberScout is an 'all accessories included' system in which one part number provides everything needed. It is rated IP65 for dust and water, allowing it to operate effectively in inclement environments. The CyberScout camera delivers 480 TV lines of resolution and is sensitive to 1 lux. It features 3,5 to 8 mm varifocal lens, 3X digital zoom, 64 presets and a 2-minute shadow tour. Pan and tilt movements are controlled at speeds to 100 per second between preset positions. In addition, the CyberScout system includes tamperproof screws and a polycarbonate dome for vandal resistance. The dome shroud conceals the camera position for discreet viewing.
