Information security solution

September 2002 Information Security

HID's pcProx desktop proximity reader - available locally from Honeywell-TeqTrader - has been integrated into a variety of third-party software offerings specifically geared towards information security.

BioNetrix software allows HID's pcProx desktop readers to be deployed for user authentication to multiple enterprise applications supported by the BioNetrix Authentication Suite. Organisations currently using HID proximity cards for physical access security can leverage the BioNetrix platform to use these same credentials for authenticating into IT environments.

PC Guardian's Encryption Plus Folders Enterprise data protection program automatically and transparently encrypts and decrypts information stored in selected folders. The program requires users to enter their passwords to access protected information. HID's pcProx technology increases the level of security by providing two-factor authentication (password plus presentation of user's proximity card). If either is missing, users are unable to log onto the program and access their data.
