TeqTrader adds principal to company name

August 2002 News & Events

One-stop security solutions wholesaler, TeqTrader, has announced that it has incorporated the name of its principal - Honeywell - into its company name and will, in future, be known as Honeywell-TeqTrader.

The sales and marketing division of the company has moved from its Braamfontein premises to Honeywell's Gauteng headquarters in Midrand in response to the demand for training within the security industry, which can no longer be contained at the Braamfontein premises. Over-the-counter sales will still be handled from the Braamfontein premises.

Honeywell's Steve Shannon says, "Honeywell is very proud of TeqTrader and what it has achieved in a short time. The name change is a welcome and timeous development reinforcing the connection with Honeywell and reminding customers of the stature, infrastructure, commitment to quality and brand credibility of the organisation which backs TeqTrader."

Frank Fowles of Honeywell-TeqTrader adds that the synergies between his company and Honeywell are particularly apparent in the systems market, with Honeywell's Enterprise Building Integrator (EBI) product that controls elements such as fire and gas detection, CCTV, heating, ventilation and airconditioning.

"The Honeywell name is a big advantage, particularly when we court business further north in Africa and find that it has great credibility and opens many doors for us," says Fowles.
