Home and security automation with Z-Wave

1 April 2019 Integrated Solutions

The Fibaro System is an advanced intelligent home automation solution. All Fibaro products use Z-Wave technology which connect to and allow you to control every electrical device in a building without interfering with the buildings’ infrastructure. Thanks to the miniaturisation of the devices, the system stands out as a non-invasive installation.

Micro-modules can be installed onto existing wall sockets and light switches and are compatible with even the oldest electrical installations. Beautifully designed in every detail, aesthetic sensors can be mounted in any location or position. Control units communicate wirelessly to devices within the building and send them commands to perform certain actions.

Home Centre 2 and Home Centre Lite are intuitive user interfaces that have a clear, simple and user-friendly interface, that allow you to monitor and manage your home or office. The user has the ability to control the Fibaro system via phone, tablet or computer - also remotely from anywhere in the world. The applications are designed for both IOS and Android operating systems.

The Home Centre 2 is the central hub used to control the Fibaro system. The HC2 communicates with up to 230 devices and sensors using a wireless communication protocol called Z-Wave. The data in the Fibaro Home Centre is protected by an advanced data backup and recovery system - automatically stored on the USB stick hidden within the enclosure.

The Home Centre Lite is a new, compact brain of the Fibaro System that uses proven solutions applied within the Home Centre 2. The HCL is equipped with a recovery system and has the ability to store backups in the cloud. It is smaller and more discrete than HC2 and offers the possibility of further extension with expansion modules (battery and a GSM module, to be launched soon).

The various add-on modules allow users to switch on and off lights, open or close automated blinds and a variety of additional functions. From a security perspective, the Door/Window Sensor is a battery powered reed sensor. It monitors the opening and closing of doors, windows and garage doors. It is used in automatic light control, access control, and property protection systems.

The Flood Sensor is a flood and temperature sensor. The device can be either battery or 12 V/24 V DC powered. It is designed to be placed on a floor or wall with the sensor probes extended by a connected wire. The device has a built in LED indicator and acoustic alarm, and is also equipped with a tilt sensor, reporting tilt or movement to the main controller. Additional smoke and motion sensors can also be added to the system.
