Hi-Tech Home Security

1 April 2019

Welcome to the first issue of Hi-Tech Home Security, a Hi-Tech Security Solutions publication. Hi-Tech Home Security is a monthly news brief in which we focus on the latest news, opinions and products pertaining to the home security market. All the articles published in the news brief will also be published on the Hi-Tech Security Solutions website (www.securitysa.com), in the Home Security category. Needless to say, there will also be new articles added to this category during the month so make sure you check the site regularly.

As more security tools and techniques are consumerised, home users are beginning to see an enormous growth in the products and services they can choose from to protect their homes and loved ones. This is where Hi-Tech Home Security will focus.

From the latest alarm and intruder defences, through to surveillance and security services aimed at the home user, Hi-Tech Home Security will cover the latest and greatest, as well as the opportunities the home security market presents for installers focused on this market. As the Internet of Things grows and manufacturers put more intelligence into their security products, your traditional security technologies have expanded beyond simply detecting, deterring and delaying, and can now form part of a complete smart home solution.

While the Hi-Tech Home Security focus is not going to be on the benefits and cool factor of smart home technologies, you can’t separate the smart and security anymore. The same processes that lets you switch lights on and off remotely are also used to respond to an alarm and see what’s happening from the convenience of a smartphone or Internet browser. The technology that opens your garage door when your phone is within a certain distance of your home will also tell you that your door is open when you are not at home.

It’s all connected and Hi-Tech Home Security is where we make sense of the jargon and show you how to capitalise on advances in technology and secure what matters.

As an online publication, Hi-Tech Home Security is a work in progress and we welcome input from our readers. If you have ideas about what you would like to see in the home security news brief and on the website, please let us know at [email protected] and we will endeavour to make this publication an indispensable part of the home security market.
