The MLR2-E central station receiver from SurGard provides for increased expandability (to a maximum of 30 receiver lines), requiring 15 DRL2E line cards in 19" rack-mount cages. Additional features of the MLR2E include flash memory, individual line processing, dialled number identification (DNIS) and digital signal processing (DSP).
By using DNIS, the MLR2-E can respond faster to an incoming call, reducing on-line time, therefore save money. All monitoring stations have per second billing arrangements; the reduction of the on-line time, even by 5 s per call, can result in extensive savings. DSP processing also increases the accuracy of recognition, allowing for greater flexibility when adding new features.
All programming on the MLR2-E can be verified on the display or printed. One can tailor the output to the computer or adjust the printer and computer output from the keypad or via the serial port with Windows-based software, allowing for uploading and downloading of the line cards program. The MLR2E allows one to choose the handshakes require in the order that they are needed.
SurGard is a division of DSC and is distributed locally by Elvey International who recently renewed its contract with DSC for five years.
