Softcon, a specialist in access control has developed new intelligent hardware and performance software which offer more premium features such as:
Software
The software will be based on a server/client structure and for speed and complexity reasons equipment translators are DLL programs and not via ASCII files. This will allow for a live display and automatic updates to databases and controller RAM.
Additional features such as set-up wizards, dial-up networks, audit trails, integrated video, asset tracking, guard tour, time and attendance and integrated www, e-mail and SMS functions will be available.
Hardware
Interface door controllers will serve as a stand-alone batch reader, granting access on certain data on the access cards. Two versions will be available ie reader and reader/pin/LCD. A one-wire bus provides an interface to external I/O devices, typically external relays or (four supervised) inputs. The reader/pin/LCD version will also act as a handheld programmer to the controllers.
Furthermore, Softcon also developed new controllers ie a two-reader controller and an eight-reader controller. The two-reader controller is a multifunctional controller and replaces the previously used controllers. Features such as 16 supervised inputs, four relay outputs, and 96K for card data, 1000 transactions are just a few functions mentioned. The eight-reader controller features as a PC on chip and interface/communicate to the readers via four serial LAN (RS485) or RS232 or via TCP-IP. Over 20 000 Softcon controllers have already been installed in over 29 countries.
