Lock manufacturer Yale-Union Security South Africa has changed its name to ASSA ABLOY SA as part of its integration into international parent company ASSA ABLOY. The renaming comes a year after ASSA ABLOY'S acquisition of international lock giant Yale Intruder Security and in the wake of its acquisition of Viro Locks SA in August.
ASSA ABLOY is a leading manufacturer and supplier of locking solutions with total group sales amounting to more than R22 bn ASSA ABLOY's share of the world market is around 10%. The group also enjoys good market positions in South Africa, France, the Netherlands, the UK, North America, Brazil, and China.
