ESDA Roadshow in the Western Cape

1 July 2015 News & Events

ESDA will be holding its roadshow in the Western Cape on the 29th July 2015. The event will be held at Riverclub, Observatory, c/o Liesbeek Parkway & Observatory Road, Observatory, Cape Town.

The roadshow provides buyers and specifiers with a great opportunity to come and see products on display and discuss their security technology requirements with the industry experts on each stand.

Came BPT

At the Came BPT South Africa stand (the new company name of TRI-BPT), you can expect to see some new and interesting products and initiatives just developed by Came Group. Some of the brands of the group are: BPT, well known for intercom and home automation systems; Came, a leader in gate and door automation, traffic barriers, access control and parking systems; Urbaco, the inventor of the automatic bollard; Domino LED; and Parkare, the Spanish leader in on and off-street parking solutions.

The five reasons why you should come and see Came BPT stand with products exhibited for the first time in South Africa are:

1. The first full IP BPT intercom system. A Thangram IP video entry panel connected to a Futura 7-inch IP monitor. It will be possible to connect to the system via a tablet or via smartphones.

2. The new generation of Came slide and swing gate motors. They will have on board the new technology called Came Connect which will allow users and installers to connect to the motors to have information about the installation, the needs of maintenance and the status of the machines.

3. The elegant Came G4040Z traffic barrier.

4. The small and elegant Stylo swing motor designed for small and pedestrian gates (max 1.8 m and 150 kg).

5. A new Loyalty Program designed to give an important incentive to companies who are keen on developing new business with Came Group systems and products.

OnGuard

OnGuard invites its customers to test their recently added time and attendance module. OnGuard has for many years been able to record staff attendance and the latest improvement adds biometric facial recording via dedicated wall mounted tablets. This improvement further adds to its integrated solution of guard management. Time sheets are quickly and easily accessible from the Internet. Control room staff are able to manage the staff site attendance remotely. The improvement takes advantage of the fact that many of its clients are already storing their staff employee data on their secure servers thereby allowing them to utilise their free ID card bureau service.

The soon to be enacted POPI act will require that personal data is kept private. This means that paper-based access control systems will need to be replaced with scanners which store data in a secure way. Identiscan achieves this at an affordable price.

Vixnet

Vixnet is owned by Vix Technologies, an international company with diverse international investments specialising in ground breaking technologies. Vixnet owns, developed and designed a secure, state of the art, non-GSM based bi-directional, non-jammable data communications network. The network frequencies are ICASA licenced, and the products type approved, the network was tailor designed for the security industry’s specific needs.

Vixnet prides itself on being the only supplier of DSSS radios that ensures the alarm owners peace of mind. Since its inception into the South African alarm communications market in 2006, Vixnet has strived to be innovative by addressing current issues in the market, namely:

a) Introducing anti-jamming technology.

b) Offering available spectrum.

c) A fully redundant DSSS and reliable network.

d) Full bi-directional communications for signal acknowledgement.

e) And getting RF signals out of built up areas, i.e. malls and CBDs.

What draws the security industry market to Vixnet is:

• A propriety network not at all related to the GSM/cellular networks.

• Bi-directional communications.

• Uploading of user codes and event logs for alarm systems using its DSSS network, (only on specific alarm panels).

• A radio transceiver with its own slim line (cellphone size) battery back up, (using 3.6 volt), that manages the serial feeder cable for any tampering or malicious damage.

• Radio devices are trackable using triangulation and not GPS positioning.

• Signals from radio devices can be routed to multiple control centres simultaneously to ensure response and reaction takes place (ideal for estate monitoring).

• With Vixnet transceivers, the signals have four stages of signal acknowledgement through the network, ensuring delivery of the signal.

Vixnet currently has five different radio transmitters and transceivers to satisfy your needs, varying in pricing, benefits and features as well as network fees.
