Megapixel security for government office in Tanzania

July 2015 Surveillance

Dahua Technology has provided security for the Tanzanian Presidential Office in Zanzibar. Tanzania is the largest country of East Africa and Zanzibar is the semi-autonomous part of eastern Tanzania.

The Presidential Office is one among 16 ministries established in the seventh phase of the revolutionary government of Zanzibar. After years of use, the security system of the Presidential Office is no longer fit for duty. For this reason, the Presidential Office decided to upgrade its old security system and replace the ageing cameras with more advanced ultra-smart cameras.

Dahua’s ultra-smart network cameras have been chosen for their resolution as well as smart functions. Dahua’s 3-megapixel network camera, HDBW8301, offers diverse designs and shapes, featuring ultra codec and smart detection. HDBW8301 supports a maximum of 25/30 fps@3 MP encoding and features in triple-stream codec, enabling customised configuration on codec, frame rate and bit rate depending on purpose.

As for smart detection, the ultra-smart series supports intelligent analytics such as tripwire, intrusion detection, abandoned/missing objects, scene change, defocus, facial detection and audio detection, allowing automatic detection and triggering of alarms.

As for the outdoor perimeter, the Presidential Office chose Dahua 2-Megapixel full HD 30x ultra-smart network IR PTZ dome cameras. They support up to 25/30 fps@1080p encoding. It is suitable for outdoors surveillance. The IR distance is up to 150 metres and it supports auto tracking, which means a moving object or a person can be tracked automatically and recorded, without any manual operation or any operator intervention. Meanwhile, Dahua’s 2-Megapixel full HD network IR zoom cameras, SDW2030S, are also installed to improve security.

In addition to those cameras, Dahua also upgraded the NVRs for the office with its NVR6000DR. It supports 128 IP cameras input with 1080p real-time live viewing.

Dahua’s IP megapixel solution provides 24/7 protection to the Presidential Office. It creates a secure environment and can help first responders to pinpoint where they are most needed.
