The Videx TouchProbe reads data from and writes data to Dallas Semiconductor iButtons, while at the same time the TouchProbe's internal clock records the time and date of each contact. This makes the TouchProbe suitable for use in demanding security applications such as guard tour tracking and inspection routes. IButtons are mounted at inspection points such as doors, machinery or office equipment. When the TouchProbe comes in contact with the iButton, the location, date and time, and the TouchProbe's ID are instantly recorded, providing an audit trail of the inspection points. It is ideal when dependable, tamper-proof data collection is required.
The probe is made with a combination of extruded and cast aluminium to provide a rugged protection for the internal electronics. Yet, because the metal is an aluminium alloy, the TouchProbe remains lightweight - only 145 g. The TouchProbe is sealed with silicone to resist dirt and moisture, making it ideal for harsh outdoor applications. A protective powder-coat finish enhances durability and powder-coat colour options are available.
