MiRO takes on NUUO

March 2015 News & Events

Wireless IP convergence company MiRO has added the NUUO brand to its existing portfolio. This move allows the company to provide a hardware recording platform that is not only synergistic with its VIVOTEK and Sunell CCTV camera product lines, but which can be seamlessly integrated with virtually any other IP camera brand.

“NUUO’s VMS and NVR solution offer comprehensive recording, monitoring, and seamless third-party solution integration for IP and analogue cameras. MiRO’s appointment as a distributor of NUUO products is fortuitous, as we have been searching for a hardware recording platform that would offer benefits to a wider customer base,” says MiRO CEO, Bertus van Jaarsveld.

“Our relationship with NUUO actually extends back to 2004 when we were appointed as their first distributor in South Africa. However, at that time, IP was just making an appearance in the security sector and did not become popular until much later. It is fitting that we are now their latest IT and telecommunications-based distributor.”

The NUUO products provide full integration and superior analytics across a wide variety of camera brands. Together these factors provide increased flexibility and cost-effectiveness, resulting in a faster and larger return on investment.

The NUUO range complements the Milestone open platform solution that MiRO markets in southern Africa. Van Jaarsveld believes that by offering customers both a premium product such as Milestone and a cost-effective product such as NUUO, the company is able to cover all customer requirements. He explains that while Milestone offers a high-end open platform that can integrate access control, HVAC and building management systems, NUUO’s offering provides a perfect solution for the surveillance sector.

The well-known NUUO SOLO appliance range is Linux-based, which provides effective protection against both PC viruses and system crashes. Setup is quick and easy and offers compatibility with over 80 different camera brands, including megapixel cameras. Both H.264 compression and two-way audio are supported by the system.

In addition, NUUO products can be accessed remotely through mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad and Android. Users can view up to 128 live channels with multiple monitors. Web-based support is also provided and allows for panoramic 360° PTZ control, as well as generic dewarp (fisheye), digital PTZ and multi-view.
