Arteco Global launches in South Africa

July 2014 News & Events

Arteco Global, a producer of Video Event Management Software (VEMS) for the security industry is opening a new commercial sales and support branch in South Africa. Based in Midrand, Arteco SA will handle all sales and level 1 to 3 support for the African continent.

“South Africa is one of the most important security markets in the world where perimeter security plays a key role in the profiles of many different customer segments,” said Steve Birkmeier, vice president of sales and business development for Arteco Global. “Our growth in the last 18 months in this market proved to us that we need to be a local presence to better serve our expanding customer base.”

At the same time, the company has announced the appointment of Dean Sichelschmidt as country manager of the newly launched Arteco SA. He will be supported by Arteco systems engineers for technical as well as admin support.

With over 16 years of experience in the industry, Sichelschmidt has extensive knowledge of video management solutions, access control, point-of-sale integration, video content analysis software, long range and ultra-long range video systems. He has spent a career specialising in assisting integrators in complete system design and deployment. He has consulted and designed solutions not only for commercial and industrial sites, but has been strategically involved with solutions for border security for several African countries.

“We are extremely excited to kick things off with Arteco SA,” said Sichelschmidt. “We have sustained phenomenal growth and opening this branch will give local support both from a sales and technical standpoint and really help us take the market to the next level.”
