Securing estates with integrated solutions

Elvey Security Technologies made its presence known at the Cape Town Residential Estate Breakfast with its own exhibition showing a number of products aimed at the residential market. With experts on the stand, Elvey was able to engage with estate managers to explain the benefits of various technologies, such as wireless alarms, among others.

Elvey director, Dave Waywell was on the show and he was pleased with the guests who mingled around the Elvey display. He adds that the speakers were also informative and provided the opportunity to learn about estate security from people who have actually done installations successfully – consultants and estate managers.

Although Elvey has a number of products applicable to residential estates, from an estate-wide wireless alarm system installed in KwaZulu-Natal, to Elvey’s various alarm communications solutions, from IP networking to radio and phone connections, Waywell says Pentagon, a specialist distributor acquired by Elvey some time ago, is more applicable to the residential market.

In Waywell’s opinion, Pentagon’s product range is also suitable to the estate market, but the company has years of experience in integrating various parts of security installations into one seamless solution that is easier to manage. Instead of having multiple products to manage, an integrated solution allows companies to control everything, from their perimeter cameras and alarms, access control and visitor management, as well as individual household alarms from one control application. This makes an estate more secure and ensures an effective, controlled response to alarm events.

It’s all about adding value for Elvey. Waywell says the company has the hardware and software estates need to secure themselves, but also the expertise to train staff to use the products optimally and to extract full value from them. Similarly, Pentagon can advise potential clients in all aspects of a security solution, from products to using the equipment, through to helping with the design and integration of systems into a single management function.

“Anybody can deliver a product,” says Waywell,” but Elvey is committed to ensuring clients receive the optimal value from their purchases.”
