The SACO System Enterprise Edition's comprehensive and flexible architecture integrates the control of a company's security, including alarm systems and CCTV surveillance, with the management of time and attendance and the tracking of company assets. Now, secure workstation and network access has been added to this well-known product.
The Enterprise Edition offers secure network access control which allows access to desktop computers with the same smartcard that provides security control for premises. The card simply needs to be placed onto the desktop reader next to the workstation, enter a network log-on password and the system will then verify the employee card and password to grant access to the workstation and network.
A screen saver will appear automatically to lock the PC when the card is removed from the on-line desktop reader. Access will only be allowed again once the card has been re-placed on the reader and the password entered. The screen saver will also lock the workstation when the time set on the 'desktop' panel has expired with no action on the workstation. When the screen saver is active and the system detects a movement of the mouse or action on the keyboard the option for entering the screen saver password to continue or logging off from the system will be offered. The screen saver password will only be accepted if the correct card has been placed on the desktop reader.
