Norbain distributes Controlsoft

June 2012 News & Events

Norbain has been appointed as a distributor of Controlsoft security products.

According to Norbain MD, Jan De Lange, “We chose Controlsoft as a partner because its products are reliable and cost effective. The Norbain partnership with Controlsoft was an easy decision for us because this company offers superb technical support and the unique design of the product sets it apart from other products in the market.”

Established in 1991, Controlsoft quickly became a leading access control product company in Africa and is currently in the process of establishing a head office in the UK, with worldwide distribution of its extensive product range taking place from South Africa, the USA and the UK.

Controlsoft manufactures a range of access control and integrated systems for security installations of virtually any size, from standalone one- or two-door systems to networked systems covering multiple sites.

In addition to its own range of products, Controlsoft is also a distributor for third-party vendors. “The range of technology available could be considered best practice and we believe in staying as far ahead of the pack as possible through research into the needs of the market. This, likewise, is something that Norbain is renowned for, thus adding further impetus to our decision to align ourselves with this international group,” adds Controlsoft senior executive, commercial, Hilary Drench.

According to Controlsoft’s technical director, Martin Cooper, the company’s access control systems are now fully IP compatible, ensuring that any systems manufactured by the company are future-proofed and able to integrate with other third-party systems.

“In addition, Controlsoft has been appointed as an HID Gold Business Partner and will be distributing HID’s near field communication (NFC) readers. These readers allow the user to present their cellphone to a reader to gain access and will eliminate issues with lost cards or buddy clocking,” says Cooper. Other technological partnerships include Assa Abloy’s wireless locking system and the latest technology from Morpho.

“The original scope of the Norbain distributorship focused mainly on the standalone, simple, lite and pro range of Controlsoft products, but the popularity of the rest of the Controlsoft range has seen the whole range of products now being made available from Norbain,” says Drench. “We look forward to a promising and mutually beneficial future with Norbain.”
