Huawei's mobile road show

April 2012 News & Events

Huawei has embarked on the South African leg of its Mobile Truck Road Show to demonstrate its new Enterprise solutions to partners and customers in action.

The Huawei truck is equipped with a series of Huawei’s latest solutions in the areas of unified communications, IP networks, security, data centre demos, telepresence, cloud computing and virtual teller machines (VTMs).

Its vertical-industry solutions, ranging from transport, broadcasting, energy and distribution are also represented in the demo truck.

Says Lauren Fan, president at Huawei Enterprise: eastern and southern Africa: “Huawei as a brand is well known in the carrier markets. We are now boldly making ourselves known in the enterprise space.

While not known for its efforts in the security market, Huawei has a range of CCTV cameras as well as a video management system designed for control rooms. These are part of the company’s enterprise division, which includes a host of other products and solutions.

The VTM, for example, is a perfect integration of modern telecommunication technologies and financial services and plays the role of the traditional banking business hall by means of providing remote virtual counter services for users and reducing manual service workload of clerks at banks. The VTM Remote Banking Solution will lead the new financial service modes by virtue of integrating multiple innovative technologies, in particular, integrating such channels as telephone banking, online banking, business halls, and automatic teller machines (ATMs).

Fan says South Africa is a key market for Huawei and serves as its headquarters for the entire sub-Saharan region.

The Hauwei Mobile Road show will visit East London, Durban and Cape Town in April 2012.
