November 2011 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

From Polygon Technologies in Cape Town, comes the GSM Commander device. It is a programmable controller that also has cellular communication abilities built in. Applications cover a wide variety of industries. Examples include cable theft prevention and the monitoring and control of perimeter alarms, electric fencing and access control. The device can be configured to accept commands from a phone, or send notifications to a phone.

GPRS communication is supported via the Airdrive platform, allowing the GSM Commander to log status and event information to an online database. Free Smartsetup software allows devices to be configured via USB or remotely via the Internet. Polygon will shortly be launching a new range of devices that are ready-to-mount.
