The recent IFSEC 2001 exhibition held in Birmingham, England was one of the highlights of this year's security industry events. As in previous years, there was a considerable amount of South African visitors to the exhibition. IFSEC continues to focus on its strong international flavour represented by 35 different countries including a strong Asian presence from Japan and Korea.
As in previous years, CCTV was one of the major product areas, with emphasis on integration and communication through TCP/IP, and Internet dominated the scene. The CCTV village remains one of the world's largest showcases of this technology and continues the tradition of showing new, cutting edge technology.
This year's IFSEC highlighted the fact that the Digital Age is here and it remains as one of the world's leading security exhibitions. Here are a few visual highlights that were captured by Abie Ali of local company, Frank Street.
