Morpho introduces the MorphoAccess VP Series

October 2011 News & Events

Morpho (Safran group) has introduced the MorphoAccess VP Series in South Africa through its local partner Ideco Biometric Security Solutions (IBSS). The MorphoAccess VP range is the first range of physical access control terminals combining finger vein and fingerprint biometrics in one system and was launched earlier this year at IFSEC International in Birmingham UK.

This range of products is suitable for authentication or identification, guaranteeing unrivalled levels of security, accuracy and performance. The terminals can identify up to 10 000 users; have enhanced anti-spoofing capabilities; and are rated IP65 for ruggedness.

Over 60 000 Morpho biometric terminals are installed across South Africa, securely managing physical access for some 2,5 million people. This makes Morpho the largest player in the local market. Morpho’s strong presence in the region reinforces its global market leadership by delivering the most advanced solutions to meet the most critical customer needs.

“We are proud to set a new benchmark for the industry by introducing the multimodal vein and fingerprint device to the physical access control market way ahead of others,” says Philippe Compagnon, MD of Morpho South Africa. “This displays our leadership in biometric technologies and successful partnerships in the region.”

“Through its network of channel partners, Ideco Biometric Security Solutions continues to provide the latest Morpho technology and maintain its position as the pre-emininent biometrics supplier in the South African security market. The multimodal vein and fingerprint is yet another example of our successful partnership with Morpho in SA,” says Marius Coetzee, CE of IBSS.
