Web-based access control

September 2011 Access Control & Identity Management

Uniclox launches smart web solution for employee-based access control.

Uniclox Technologies’ Vision Unique Time & Attendance solution is now fully Web-enabled for companies who do not want the cost and hassle of in-house infrastructure and staff. Edit individual employee records and extract accurate, unbiased and detailed reports using your desktop computer, Internet connected laptop or smartphone.

Business managers can monitor late arrivals, from anywhere in the world, at any time of the day or night. If the access control modules are enabled, managers can also track who enters and leaves high-security areas like warehouses, cashiers areas or executive offices. From a strategic perspective, Uniclox Vision provides management information to minimise absenteeism and control overtime.

“Most Web-based time and attendance solutions are too simplistic and cannot handle the complexity of multiple shifts and schedules,” reports Uniclox director, Raymond Noppe. “Our Web-enabled solution offers all the software features of Uniclox Vision, but does not require an on-site server or ongoing database administration by the client.”

Vision Unique offers three deployment options: on-site, Web-based or mobile smartphone.

Terminals are linked into a (TCP/IP) network, which is linked to the Internet via a Uniclox router. Although ADSL connectivity is an advantage, any Uniclox terminals can be made Internet-aware (using ADSL, broadband or 3G). When one communication channel is faulty, another route is automatically selected to link to the Uniclox iWeb server. The Uniclox data centre is secure and client data is backed up at the centre as well as on an off-site for additional protection.
