Marriott prevents fire disasters

Bosch delivers PA/emergency evacuation and CCTV solution.

The prestigious new Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Istanbul has chosen to rely on just one major supplier for its fire alarm, PA/emergency evacuation and CCTV installations – Bosch Security Systems.

The hotel attracts many guests and, beside comfort, design and functionality, security and safety was also high on the hotel owner’s list of priorities. Bosch was selected principally because of the company’s solid reputation in fire alarm, emergency-evacuation with professional sound and CCTV-surveillance systems, but also because of the outstanding warranty conditions and the excellent service provided locally by Bosch and the system integrator. Another important factor influencing the hotel owner’s decision was the stylish, unobtrusive designs of the Bosch equipment, fully in keeping with the hotel’s aesthetic standards.

The main technical challenge facing the installers was the complex integration requirements required to be able to react to a possible fire scenario at the hotel. The installers overcame this challenge by developing a fully integrated fire alarm system centred on fire panels from the Bosch Modular Fire Panel 5000 Series.

The fire alarm system includes two addressable Modular fire panels 5000 Series with 1600 addressable points divided over 24 loops. These include 700 420 Series fire detectors, 220 sounders/strobes, 55 manual call points, 700 input/output interface modules and 262 base sounders for the guests’ rooms.

Additionally, two remote keypads were installed to give the customer the flexibility to control the complete system at selected locations within the building.

The installers chose to install the Praesideo public address and emergency evacuation system from Bosch, which has a direct connection to the Modular fire panel 5000 Series. The system provides perfect sound coverage and allows fast and safe evacuation of the premises in the event of an emergency.

The Praesideo installation at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel controls in total 600 LHM 0606 ceiling loudspeakers, 50 LBC 3481/12 horn speakers and 20 LB1/UW06-FL cabinet speakers over 24 zones.

The video surveillance system, comprising 48 LTC 1412/10 FlexiDome colour cameras connected to three Divar Mid-Range digital video recorders, monitors all important areas of the hotel.
