Hi-Tech webinar winners

June 2010 News

Hi-Tech Security Solutions and VideoIQ held a joint webinar earlier this year with an excellent response from the security community. In fact, the webinar was so successful, VideoIQ has announced it will run a follow-up webinar with Hi-Tech Security Solutions on 17 August 2010.

The topic for the next webinar will be 'How breakthroughs in technology are revolutionising Guarding in South Africa'. The webinar will include topics such as:

* Event driven analytics.

* Remote surveillance.

* Intelligent IP edge devices.

The first webinar examined the concept of intelligent video solutions and zoned in on VideoIQ’s product strengths in this field, which combine advanced video analytics and digital recording capabilities into a single IP (Internet protocol) camera.

Local VideoIQ representative, Andrew Page Wood, started the discussion with an overview of why intelligent video solutions are especially pertinent to the security situation in South Africa. Says Page Wood, “Today’s smart new intelligent video surveillance solutions are revolutionising the ways in which organisations protect themselves against security threats. With advanced video analytics and digital recording capabilities combined into a single IP camera, these next-generation systems use intelligence to not only detect and warn of threats, but store video only when needed, dramatically reducing bandwidth requirements. This sort of technology is highly relevant for South African security challenges.”

Doug Marman, CTO of VideoIQ in the US, joined in the webinar to deliver the keynote presentation which delved into the benefits businesses can extract from intelligent offerings. Marman was at pains to point out that, despite some naysayers, intelligent video delivers real solutions to business today.

Proving his point, local businessman,Trevor D’Oliveira, closed the presentation with a short case study describing how VideoIQ products are creating an intelligent, virtual wall around an estate, with tremendous success.

Set your calendars for 17 August 2010 for the next instalment in customer presentations without the stress of travelling. Watch this space for more details about the webinar.
