Gambling's new discipline?

March 2010 Integrated Solutions, Entertainment and Hospitality (Industry)

Marius Coetzee COO of Ideco, says the solution for securing the gambling industry, be it casino or online, is based on identity management.

“Identity management is fast becoming the next discipline that trade and industry should master in order to ensure sustainability,” stresses Coetzee. “With business drivers such as FICA/RICA/Know Your Customer/Secure Sign On, all organisations are required to only deal with definitive identities at the point of interacting with persons (both employees and customers). As a result, this has positioned Ideco as the leader in the identity management sector.”

So how do these identity management tools work for the casino industry?

According to Coetzee, identity management tools are applied in two areas: workforce management to ensure compliance to OHS regulations and related legislation; Know Your Customer strategies to promote responsible gambling and improve customer service.

Coetzee maintains that the industry’s biggest challenge is the online gambling sector and harmonising them to the same standards as set by the NGB.

Below is a roadmap showing the evolution of identity management solutions – as seen by Ideco.
