FleetVu adopted as loss control solution

May 2001 Surveillance

Loss control solution providers have adopted Vision Catcher's FleetVu as a solution to continued theft and misappropriation problems.

FleetVu's ability to provide a long term recording solution at high-quality frame rates enables the user to place the standalone unit in a secure place and either remove the IDE hard-drive or network through LAN into FleetVu. The ability to review all recorded material through an easy-to-use video search engine allows for prompt and accurate detail of specific events.

In addition, Vision Catcher has linked till interface units into FleetVu to further enhance the package. This ensures that as items are run through the scanners, the detail is shown on the camera and at the same time recording all of the necessary information for check back at any stage.

FleetVu's black ruggedised box, built for use in vehicles, office and factory environments, is capable of running off power at 220, 24 or 12 V, with battery back-up options and total power management within the latter two voltage settings. The IDE hard-drive can be chosen for maximum recording. FleetVu will give an average frame size of 2-3 KB, which will support 24 h of continuous recording on four cameras to around 5 GB - a 60 GB hard-drive would therefore allow 12 days of continuous recording and well over a month's recording with 25% motion detection.

The easy to use software enables prompt and accurate set-up, and the recorded .avi format means that any recording can be played back on any other Microsoft Windows platform without FleetVu's own software.
