iOmniscient video analytics

Sentronics has announced the release of iOmniscient, a complete suite of video analytics software. This software suite comprises of various modules that can be used individually or combined to address the widest variety of applications. The modules are categorised according to an 'IQ-Rating', starting at IQ100 for Intrusion Detection, IQ110 for Object Counting, IQ115 for Slip and fall, IQ120 for Crowd Management etc. IQ140 is a patented feature and the only one of its kind in the world with non-motion detection capability. Non-motion detection ignores motion, which is the opposite of what other analytics products do. Counter-intuitively the technology focuses on static or stationary objects, learning the background of a scene in a few minutes. The software continuously learns and updates the background even while it ignores motion. The major advantage of this methodology in comparison to that used with traditional video analytics is that the issue of problematic outdoor and busy or crowded scenes analysed is overcome. This is apparent in train stations, airports and public venues. The other major advantage of this unique technology is the handling of obscuration - that is, to find an object when people are walking in front of it. An example of this would be if a person walks into a crowded area and carries an object that is not visible to the camera (only the person is visible to the camera). He leaves the object in one location - the object only becomes visible once he has placed it down. The system will be able to detect that this object has been left behind in the room even if people are walking in front of the object, as long as parts of the object are visible some of the time.
