July 2007 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

A wireless video security system built around self-powered P-Cams (integrated night vision cameras and motion detectors). The system communicates internally using 915 MHz spread spectrum radio with a range of over 500 metres between the panel and P-Cams. One panel can run up to 24 cameras. The self-powered panel communicates to the central monitoring station via GPRS radio using existing cell towers. The cameras remain off until an alarm sounds. When the P-Cam detects motion, a 10-second video clip of what caused the alarm is received with the monitoring station and can be e-mailed or sent as an MMS to the cellphone of the customer.
