Rokonet launches a new, improved range of zodiac PIR detectors.

Always aware of the needs and demands of an ever-changing security industry, Rokonet recently redesigned the popular Zodiac series of PIR detectors to assure improved catch performance and false alarm immunity.

Supplied by Sesco Security, there are at present two versions to choose from - the Zodiac Pro and Zodiac Quad PIRs. The Zodiac Pet PIR will be available shortly. All models are attractively-priced and utilise Zodiac's best-selling compact design which is particularly suitable for residential installations. All models feature a swivel bracket for wall or ceiling mounting, providing the installer complete versatility for any application. The unique new lens design offers full 12 by 12 m coverage.

The Zodiac Pro series includes a complete range of interchangeable detectors for all types of residential installations.

As well as the above features, the Zodiac Pro also features high RFI immunity, selectable pulse count, white light protection, optical protective sleeve, internal cable duct and plenty of wiring space inside the unit for quick and easy installation.

The Zodiac Quad enjoys the same features as the Pro, with the added benefit of a real quad pyroelectric element sensor and specially designed low-gain electronics, which provide improved false alarm immunity with more dense volumetric detection coverage, even in hostile environments.

The quad element sensor has four elements instead of the standard dual element pyroelectric, both contained within a single housing - in other words, it is really two PIRs in one. The quad element sensor is inherently more sensitive than the sensor used in the Zodiac Pro. This allows the reduction of electronic gain - false alarms from warm air, moving curtains, temperature changes and small animals and rodents are significantly reduced while RFI immunity in the Zodiac Quad is increased to 25 V/M.

The electronic band width of the Quad is narrower and has a cut off at higher frequencies than the Pro. This makes the Quad much less susceptible to false alarms in harsh environments.

The Zodiac Quad is the most economical solution for high catch performance with high false alarm immunity for residential and even light commercial installations.

All detectors in the Zodiac Pro series can be easily upgraded by simply changing the PCB (Pro to Quad) or PCB and lens (Pro/Quad to Pet).
