PTZ IP camera with 10x optical zoom

November 2005 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

The new E-6430 is an IP camera with full pan/tilt and zoom control. Built around an IP video server, this camera features an embedded Tri-Media processor, 16 MB memory and Ethernet interface. The E-6430 is connected to the network via its RJ45 10/100 Mbps network interface. IP cameras are identified on a network by assigning an individual IP to each one. A wide variety of network protocols are supported including TCP/IP, DDNS, FTP, UPnP, DHCP and SMTP.

The camera incorporates a high quality CCD camera with an integrated 10x motorised zoom lens. This auto-focus lens can be adjusted between 4,2 and 42 mm, the perfect range for an indoor application.

For basic monitoring, one can interface to the camera via a standard IE webpage. For applications with one camera and more, a basic recording/monitoring application is included with each camera. We also offer a complete digital video recording IP package with extensive CCTV DVR features. Recording is activated via motion detection or an alarm input. Adjustable image settings include adjustable frames/sec, image resolution and video configuration.

An interesting feature of the E-6430 is the dual-codec support. Both popular compression types are supported with this IP camera. MJPEG offers higher quality images but at lower frame rate and at a higher bandwidth. MPEG4 is the other type of compression, which can be selected. MPEG4 is ideal for lower bandwidth situations and provides excellent streaming video support.

The E-6430 has an integrated audio microphone and support for bi-directional audio with synchronised video and audio.

Camera control including pan, tilt and zoom are controlled via the web-browser interface or IP software package. A patrol and auto pan mode can also be activated via the included IR remote control.
