Streets ahead

May 2005 News & Events

Johannesburg-based Frank Street was established in 1998 as an importer and distributor of cameras in the Gauteng area. The company has gone from strength to strength and now specialises in digital video recording, system integration and CCTV design.

"We have now gone national and have established branches in Johannesburg and Durban. We also distribute our goods to other countries in Africa, including Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola and Namibia," says director Abie Ali.

One of Frank Street's main product lines is the Diginet digital recorder. It is a PC-based digital video recorder with 16-camera multipicture display; Endless and Synchronised recording remote surveillance; easy operation with graphical user interface; and a friendly on-screen menu. The company also carries an extensive range of colour as well as black and white cameras.

Some key sites using Frank Street equipment are the JSE, JP Morgan Bank, Alexander Forbes and BOE Bank/Nedcor in the financial sector; Spur, Ocean Basket, Mochacho's and Nando's franchises; Edgars, Woolworths, Spar, Pick 'n Pay, SARS, Denel, Spoornet, Mac Steel, De Beers, Sasol, Comparex, SAA, Rectron, Namitec, Shell, BP, Engen and Total; and also the Menlyn Park, Green Acres and Game City shopping malls.

"Frank Street sources products from Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.

The final Diginet products are assembled in our workshop enabling us to provide an efficient support base. All our other products eg, power supplies, housings, cable, PC cases etc. are sourced locally," Ali continues.

"All equipment is backed up by a one-year warranty, which is honoured by Frank Street (provided our Swap-out/Exchange policy has been adhered to).

"We realise that customers have a choice in today's market and this choice helps keep us on top and continually striving to provide superior products and benefits for our customers. Therefore, Frank Street has aligned itself to provide for the most important needs of the customer - service, support and solutions.

These three words helped build the foundation on which Frank Street is based. As an industry leader in digital video recording the company is committed to maintaining an outstanding level of quality services for our customers."
