The ACTivator -Vital in an Emergency

June '99 Infrastructure

ACT's revolutionary new technology for the Ultra-Rapid charging/conditioning of two-way radio batteries, has gained general acceptance as being a necessary and vital piece of equipment for Fire Departments, Emergency Services and other companies where lives and the minimizing of collateral damage hinge on 100% reliable communications at all times.

During recent floods and fires, the ACTivator has been a real workhorse, charging up batteries during emergencies in under 30 minutes. For the first time in the history of two-way radio communications, maintaining vital life saving communications throughout an emergency, irrespective of its duration, is now possible without the fear of damaging expensive batteries. Adding to this major benefit is the fact that radio users can now rely on their radios as they will have the same talk time and transmit power as when the battery was new. For the first time they can now plan around the fact that radios can be relied upon and not just a frustrating 'hit and miss' scenario as before. Many users have also reported a significant reduction in the quantity of new replacement batteries purchased and estimates indicate that the ACTivator will pay for itself in less than a year under normal working conditions, a worthwhile investment indeed.

"I would recommend the ACT charger without hesitation because it proved itself in a real disaster situation"

Fire Chief Mac Kay - Mossel Bay Fire Department

(Mossel Bay floods, April 1998)

"We were never without charged batteries during the fire, something we battled to achieve in the past"

Fire Chief Fouche - Paarl Fire Department

(Fire in Boland Mountains, February 1999)

ACT in Cape Town, South Africa, the African Distributor for ACT Incorporated, Atlanta, USA, has reported sales in excess of 150 six bay and 50 single bay ACTivator's for the month of April 1999 in South Africa alone, proving without a doubt that the product has gained acceptance in the South African market.

Prices have also remained steady for the past 18 months due to increased sales compensating for the decreasing Rand which has weakened by over 15% for the same period, further proof that the ACTivator is considered as an investment in these recessionary times.
