Major Botswana orders for Bitcon

December 2004 Access Control & Identity Management, Access Control & Identity Management, Integrated Solutions

Bitcon Industries has supplied almost 200 fire door and frame assemblies for the Ministry of Health headquarters in Gaborone - one of several recent major orders from Botswana for the company's range of specialised doors.

Brendan Eagar, general manager of Mercurio Trade - a member of the Vitrex Group and Bitcon's Botswana agency - says that Stocks Building Africa (Botswana) ordered a total of 193 Class B Rubidor fire door and frame assemblies for this prestigious project: 116 single doors and 77 double units.

This order adds to a number of Bitcon fire doors already installed over recent years in Botswana - Bitcon Rubidor fire doors have been supplied for office blocks 6 and 8 in the Government Enclave area of Gaborone, the Technical Services office block at Debswana's Orapa diamond mine, the regional agricultural offices in Serowe, Edgars Stores in Gaborone and the Council Chambers in Mochudi.

Other contracts secured for Bitcon fire doors were for the various phases in the refurbishment and extensions to the Bank of Botswana's headquarters in Gaborone and for the University of Botswana on its Botswana Centre for Continuing Education.

But the supply of Bitcon doors into Botswana has not been limited to its fire rated doors. Orders have been received for the supply of both hinged and sliding lead-lined doors for the District Hospital in Maun and Bitcon's Anti-bandit security doors have been installed on a number of projects across the country, including more recently at the magistrates court building in Molepolole.
